Meet Our New Intern Abby
We’ve always been passionate about giving young professionals a chance to gain valuable experience in the digital marketing space.
When you’re a small but growing agency like us, every mind and skill set counts! We wanted someone who has the eagerness to learn and ready to take on the fast pace of agency life. It is with great pleasure that we introduce you to our newest Elevate intern, Abby Scroggie!
During this fun Q&A session, you’ll learn more about what Abby hopes to gain from this internship, what she loves to do when she’s not working, and what her go-to coffee order is.
Let’s get to know Abby!
WHERE DID YOU ATTEND SCHOOL? WHAT WAS YOUR MAJOR OR AREA OF FOCUS?
ABBY: I attended Michigan State University where I majored in Advertising Management and minored in Entrepreneurship. I am currently working towards my MBA at Oakland University!
MARKETING IS A BROAD INDUSTRY. IS THERE A SPECIFIC NICHE THAT DRAWS YOUR INTEREST (LIKE ADVERTISING, EMAIL MARKETING, SOCIAL MEDIA, ETC.)? WHY?
ABBY: I am drawn to digital marketing, more specifically social media marketing interests me the most. Social media is influential in almost every person's life and being able to use that to market to audiences on a personal level is what draws me to want to work within that field of marketing.
WHAT ARE YOU HOPING TO GAIN FROM YOUR INTERNSHIP WITH ELEVATE?
ABBY: When applying for the position, I wanted to gain a one-on-one learning experience. Being able to work closely with the team has already taught me so much about the marketing world and I am learning something new every day. I am also looking forward to learning the ropes of what it takes to run a small business and gaining the tools to help me to be successful in the future.
TELL US MORE ABOUT YOU! WHAT HOBBIES OR INTERESTS DO YOU HAVE OUTSIDE OF YOUR WORK?
ABBY: My hobbies include dancing, instructing, and choreographing dance, traveling, and cooking. My favorite dish to cook is Chicken Piccata because of the lemon taste! Anything lemon is my favorite and always my go-to.
WHAT’S YOUR GO-TO COFFEE ORDER?
ABBY: It would have to be a cold brew with hazelnut and sweet cream or oat milk. Yum!
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TIME OF DAY? WHY?
ABBY: My favorite time of the day is morning to early afternoon around 9 am to 1 pm. I like this time of day because it is usually when I am the most productive. I enjoy waking up in the morning, getting myself a coffee, working out, and then going about my day.
DO YOU HAVE ANY FAVORITE SPOTS OR PLACES YOU LIKE TO visit or shop AROUND LANSING?
ABBY: My favorite spot is on Michigan State University’s campus right behind the Union Building. There are some tables and grass where you can sit and just enjoy the beauty of the campus with an amazing view of the Beaumont Tower. Two other spots I like are on campus along Grand River. Pitaya, a cute clothing store, and Unicha, which a delicious spot with rolled ice cream and boba tea that I totally recommend!
WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR PROFESSIONAL ASPIRATIONS/GOALS? WHAT IS Abby DOING 5-YEARS FROM NOW?
ABBY: Hmm, in 5 years I will have successfully obtained my MBA that I am beginning full time in the fall. I would also love to be working for a brand whether it is automotive or technology.
